I agree with all the memes describing 2020 as the worst year ever. However, I managed to find a bright spot when I was introduced to Denise McCarthy.

My Mom passed at the end of 2019, so in 2020 I had to rearrange some living arrangements to be able to take care of my 81 year old father. I was introduced to Denise through a friend at the bank and I don't think I've ever been so appreciative of a referral.

I put my Condo in Beverly, MA on the market as the Coronavirus pandemic was starting. After accepting an offer over the asking price, I moved out in March, right as the state was going into lockdown. I couldn't get a fire inspector to the house because of the restrictions and Denise was problem solving right through to the close. When I was starting to stress she would calm me right down becoming not just my broker, but my partner in the process.

Then we searched until we found a lovely niche property on the Groveland/Haverhill, MA line with a dock on the Merrimack River and an additional living space over the garage. Not an easy task with low inventory because of the pandemic and a client worried about virus exposure living with a high risk family member.

I moved my father and I from his home of 42 years in Danvers, MA to our new home in July. Less than a week later we were accepting an offer over asking price for his house. This house needs some repairs and some upgrading, but Denise was always so supportive and made sure we were approaching the process the right way.

What I appreciate most was the kindness surrounding my childhood home. Denise understood the emotions that went with this particular part of the process and was so kind and sweet with us. I can't properly describe the tears of joy/appreciation when she gave me a framed artist's sketch of the house as I was preparing to move into our new home.

We are still getting settled with my best friend and her husband rounding out our little support system here in Haverhill. We are all proud of what we accomplished during this crazy year, but I know that Denise was the shining star throughout all it, guiding us through.
